FileSonic closed. Comments Disabled.
FileSonic has just shutted down its sharing functionality. We’ve also been hearing rumours about FileServe randomly deleting premium accounts without warning.
Most filehosting companies are closing their doors after Megaupload was removed by the feds and the owners charged with criminal offences. No one knows what is going to happen to these companies, whether they will be back or may just be gone for good.
JDrama Zone will cease all updates, sit back and wait a couple of weeks to see if anything changes. Please understand that there is no point in reuploading anything because any other filehosts could be closed anytime. Moreover, JDrama Zone do not keep any backups of those files anywhere other than the filehosts itself.
Because of these events, we have disabled comments on the site to prevent mass requests of mirroring. Our forums will still be active for discussion but please bear in mind that all mirror requests will be ignored.
Fundraising has also been removed as we do not think it’s fair to ask our users to pay for the costs anymore. If you have contributed in “Fundraiser 2012″ and would like a refund, please drop Aki a private message and a refund will be issued. Only contributions made in January will be refunded on request as all past contribution have already been used to pay for previous costs.
We will continue to keep this site alive as long as we can with the fund reserves and at our own cost.
Let’s all hope that everything will be back to normal as soon as possible.
Regards,
The JDrama Zone Team Continue reading

Feds Shuts Down Megaupload
We’ve just received news that the feds has shutted down Megaupload. The site is not accessible right now. Nobody is sure if it will ever be back again.
You can read more about it here.

Please do not report any dead links to us. There is no way we can reupload them. If the series you are looking for only has RapidShare, Hotfile and Megaupload, please do not request a mirror. We have no way to access those files. We will probably reupload them in the future but definitely not anytime soon.
We will be waiting a week or two to see if there is any chance of Megaupload coming back.
And please note that JDramaZone will not upload to Mediafire. We’ve recently decided to go with 1 link per episode and Mediafire has a 200MB limit. Moreover, Mediafire doesn’t keep the links around forever and it gets deleted quickly.
We’ve also started a discussion thread on this topic on our forums. Feel free to discuss about this here.

Accounts Compromised. Dropping Hotfile.
It is unfortunate that we have to bring this news during the holiday season. On 24th December, all our filehosting accounts were compromised. Someone has managed to log into all of them and changed the passwords.
We were able to retrieve everything except our hotfile account. We’ve since contacted Hotfile to no avail. We wanted to wait few days before making this announcement. Apparently, Hotfile doesn’t care if your account gets compromised. This is what they wrote in their FAQ.
My account was hacked?
You must keep secure your account information. Any mails about hacked accounts, changed information and so on will be ignored! It is your responsibility to keep your account information safe.
Because of this, we are sad to announce we will no longer be supporting Hotfile with immediate effect. Existing Hotfile links will also be removed by January as we want the compromised account to expire ASAP. All currently airing dramas will have their Hotfile links removed immediately.
We understand that many of our users are currently using Hotfile, we can only apologise and hope that everyone will switch to Filesonic soon. We will not be adding a new filehost at the moment until things have stablised.
We are extremely demoralized but we will try our best to continue the work here. We seek your understanding.
Thank you.

On a side note, we will be holding our annual fundraiser in January. A decision has been made to have the fundraiser only once a year instead of multiple times. More details will be given once the fundraiser is up. Continue reading
