We received lots of feedbacks after announcing the filehosts last week. It turns out that 2 of the hosts are not available in some countries. We have now decided to use these 2 instead.

It’s been awhile and I know that many of our users are getting impatient.

The JDZ Team were closely monitoring the different filehosts and we are glad that we didn’t jump onto any of them. Many of the filehosts are either closing down or added ridiculous limits over the past month without warning.

Even though we do not think it’s a good time to start yet, we do not want our users to wait anything longer. Here are the 3 filehosts selected.

Recruiting

This time around, we will be recruiting uploaders.

JDramaZone has decided not to provide premium accounts for the time being. All uploaders will have to use their own accounts. You are required to upload similar files to all 3 hosts.

Do note that we are looking for both new content and reuploads of series already available on the site.

There’s been an ongoing discussion in our forums regarding the future of this site.

After a few weeks of consideration, we’ve decided to move forward with a new plan. There are alot of users who are eager to contribute to the community, users who kept a huge number of dramas and are willing to upload them for everyone. But before we start recruiting new members into the JDZ Team, we have to decide on the filehosts.

We will probably go with 2 or maybe 3 different hosts. Since there’s a zillion filehosts out there, it’s time for the users of our site to decide. Please vote in the following your top 2 choices you would like to on JDrama Zone. You are allowed to select a maximum of 2 choices.

If you have any other filehosts other than mediafire in mind thet isn’t in the poll, please let us know. Sorry folks, Mediafire is still out of the question. Any comments regarding mediafire will be deleted.

FileSonic has just shutted down its sharing functionality. We’ve also been hearing rumours about FileServe randomly deleting premium accounts without warning.

Most filehosting companies are closing their doors after Megaupload was removed by the feds and the owners charged with criminal offences. No one knows what is going to happen to these companies, whether they will be back or may just be gone for good.

JDrama Zone will cease all updates, sit back and wait a couple of weeks to see if anything changes. Please understand that there is no point in reuploading anything because any other filehosts could be closed anytime. Moreover, JDrama Zone do not keep any backups of those files anywhere other than the filehosts itself.

Because of these events, we have disabled comments on the site to prevent mass requests of mirroring. Our forums will still be active for discussion but please bear in mind that all mirror requests will be ignored.

Fundraising has also been removed as we do not think it’s fair to ask our users to pay for the costs anymore. If you have contributed in “Fundraiser 2012″ and would like a refund, please drop Aki a private message and a refund will be issued. Only contributions made in January will be refunded on request as all past contribution have already been used to pay for previous costs.

We will continue to keep this site alive as long as we can with the fund reserves and at our own cost.

Let’s all hope that everything will be back to normal as soon as possible.

We’ve just received news that the feds has shutted down Megaupload. The site is not accessible right now. Nobody is sure if it will ever be back again.

Please do not report any dead links to us. There is no way we can reupload them. If the series you are looking for only has RapidShare, Hotfile and Megaupload, please do not request a mirror. We have no way to access those files. We will probably reupload them in the future but definitely not anytime soon.

We will be waiting a week or two to see if there is any chance of Megaupload coming back.

And please note that JDramaZone will not upload to Mediafire. We’ve recently decided to go with 1 link per episode and Mediafire has a 200MB limit. Moreover, Mediafire doesn’t keep the links around forever and it gets deleted quickly.
