Though I think mothers like this can crash their own children. It is natural to expect some kindness from the one who gave birth to you, so when a child constantly faces such a cold behaviour, it becomes suffocating. People can’t read minds, do they? And growing up like this makes one twisted. Even if you understand such character after many years, it will not compensate the lack of warmth.
