thank you so much…..>.<
Thank you for posting this up! I’ve seen the Ring trilogy but I haven’t seen the series. Thanks again! :).
Thanks for this up!
You have no idea how long I’ve been looking for this drama!!!
Thanks!!!
Just finished watching….well, I´m a big fan of Suzuki Koji, so I´ve never missed an opportunity to watch a movie/dorama related to his works. Of course, comparing any of the adaptions to the books is pointless = I´ve learnt never to do that, since most of the time the book and the related movie is so different in plot and characters, that it indeed looses meaning.
Ringu Saishusho is quite an example of that. Apart from the main plot = a killing videotape created for a vengance purpose by Sadako and names of the original characters, it has nothing much to do with the book series at all.
The beginning looks promising, don´t be fooled by it though. It soon turns further and further away from the book, so really, the best thing to do is just enjoy the dorama as it is, without constantly thinking about the difference.
Thinking this way, it turned out to be quite an enjoyable series, so I´d definetely recommend it if you like horror/suspense stuff. Because it´s so different from any adaptation of Ring so far, I really had NO idea what the point of it all will be. The story just keeps on twisting until you reach the breaking point of the last episode where it finally goes together. And frankly, I liked the outcome.
It is an older piece of work, but still worth watching, imho. Both Nagase Tomoya (who, I must confess, I haven´t recognized until the end of the first episode, wondering why am I like “Hanyaaa?!!” everytime I see him… :D) and Yanagiba Toshiro were perfect for their role in every way, especially Tomoya, he was…well…annoyingly mysterious, I just couldn´t figure him out at all :DDD Which, in a way, was the original character of Takayama, after all.
There are times though, when the flow of the story slows down and some scenes feel wrong or unnecessary like “getting in the way”. And as enjoyable as it may be, its “magic” is depleted after you finish watching it, all the tricks are reveled and explained, not leaving any space for further speculations or thoughts. Basically, it doesn´t leave you thinking “Oh, I´m gonna watch that again!”. So for these reasons, and these only I give it 4* :)
Thanks for sharing ^^
